Welcome to Preschool

At Epiphany Cathedral Catholic Preschool, children begin their educational journey in a joyful, faith-filled environment where they are known, loved, and encouraged to grow. Established in 1990 and fully accredited through the Florida Catholic Conference, our preschool provides a strong beginning in Catholic education for young learners.

Guided by the mission of Epiphany Cathedral Catholic School, we nurture each child’s relationship with God while building a caring community that serves others. Our approach honors the wonder and natural curiosity of early childhood, introducing students to the habits of attention, gratitude, prayer, and joyful learning that form the foundation of a classical Catholic education.

Our preschool program prepares children for the years ahead through meaningful instruction, play, creativity, and exploration. In the 2021–2022 Florida Department of Education VPK assessments, 90% of Epiphany VPK students exceeded expectations in Print Knowledge, Phonological Awareness, Oral Language/Vocabulary, and Mathematics.

Our Teachers

Our preschool teachers create a warm, structured classroom community where children feel secure, valued, and ready to learn. With experience and credentials in early childhood education, elementary education, exceptional student education, VPK, and catechesis, our faculty is dedicated to supporting the growth of the whole child.

Through patient guidance, consistent routines, and a deep love for children, our teachers help students develop confidence, independence, kindness, and a lasting enthusiasm for learning.

Our Day & Curriculum

Our program follows the Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards while offering children a rich, well-rounded introduction to learning. Through Frog Street Curriculum, Writing Our Catholic Faith, and supplemental resources, students build early skills in literacy, mathematics, language, faith, and social development.

Each day begins at 7:45 a.m. with schoolwide prayer, a Bible verse, the Pledge of Allegiance, our mission statement, and announcements. During circle time, children engage with the calendar, days of the week, months, seasons, and weather. Throughout the day, they learn through academic instruction, purposeful play, art, music, movement, prayer, singing, and hands-on activities.

Students are introduced each week to a new letter, number, color, and shape, strengthening the foundational knowledge and habits that prepare them for kindergarten and beyond. Afternoon “Wrap Around Specials” include Spanish, Technology, P.E., Art, Music, and Library. On Fridays, students receive a blessing from our parish priests, an especially meaningful opportunity to grow in faith and ask questions.

PreK 3

Half Day: 7:45 a.m.–11:30 a.m.
Full Day: 7:45 a.m.–2:30 p.m., including lunch, nap, and afternoon wrap-around specials

PreK 4 / VPK

VPK Half Day: 7:45 a.m.–11:30 a.m.
Full Day: 7:45 a.m.–2:30 p.m.

Florida’s Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program, or VPK, is a free program for eligible Florida children who are four years old on or before September 1. At Epiphany, the VPK portion of the PreK 4 day is offered from 7:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Families may choose to extend the day through our wrap-around program until 2:30 p.m. The full-day option provides students with lunch, additional learning opportunities, rest time, and afternoon specials. Tuition applies to the wrap-around portion of the day.

VPK at Epiphany

VPK at Epiphany offers children a strong, faith-centered beginning to their formal education. Our program combines the Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards with the warmth, structure, and academic purpose of a Catholic preschool community.

Children learn through a balanced day of instruction, guided play, prayer, conversation, music, movement, and creative work. They develop early literacy and mathematical understanding while also practicing important virtues: listening attentively, speaking kindly, taking responsibility, and caring for others.

Our VPK classrooms provide a joyful transition into the larger school community. Students participate in specials, visit the Library and Technology Lab, and experience the rhythms of a Catholic school day—forming a foundation for confident learning and a lifelong love of truth, goodness, and beauty.
