Mrs. Mary Caren "MC" Heffner

Epiphany Cathedral Catholic School will begin the 2017-2018 school year on August 10th with a new principal. Mrs. Mary Caren “M.C.” Heffner was selected after a nationwide search and interview process with a dedicated Search Committee consisting of representatives from diocesan, parish, and school leadership.

Mrs. Heffner is a veteran educator with over 15 years of experience in Catholic and public schools in Ohio, California, and since 2003 in Florida. She has a Masters degree in Education in Curriculum and Instruction and an Education Specialists degree in Education Leadership. She has taught 3rd through 9th graders.

“We are incredibly excited and blessed to share the good news that Mrs. Heffner will be the principal,” said Fr. Jack Costello, Rector of Epiphany Cathedral Parish and School. “She brings a vision of collaboration and development of common interests to advocate for the best education for her students. She will find opportunities for our students to strive to be even better than they have in the past.”

“I am extremely grateful of God’s blessings and am excited to lead the amazing faculty and staff at Epiphany Cathedral School, continuing the programs that go above and beyond in educating the whole child,” said Heffner. “Epiphany offers families and students the amazing gift of a Catholic, faith-filled education and I am excited to share this treasure with all of those who want a true Catholic education.”

Epiphany Cathedral School, serving students in Preschool (VPK) through grade eight, recognizes that parochial school can be costly and therefore has instituted a “Fair Share” tuition program. The “Fair Share” tuition program utilizes a number of financial assistance opportunities, which include government funding, scholarship funds and private angel donations that ensure every child can afford a Catholic education.

With the arrival of Mrs. Heffner to the Epiphany Community, the school will continue to build upon and refine our proven foundation of good work, honored traditions, and continued excellence in Catholic education.
