Mrs. Gina Code

Welcome to Epiphany Cathedral School. I am so glad to be here for my second year as Principal. I grew up in Northern Kentucky where I attended Catholic School for elementary and high school. I went on to Northern Kentucky University where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, a Masters' degree in General Education and an additional Masters' degree in Educational Leadership. I am the youngest of six children, 3 of my siblings living within a mile of where my mother lives and were we grew up in Lakeside Park, Ky.; a sibling in Missouri and a sibling in Jacksonville.
I started my education career in 1994 as 4th grade teacher in a Catholic School. I have taught in both Catholic and public schools serving as a teacher in grades first through eighth grade for 15 years. In 2009, I took my first position as Principal of St. Veronica School in Cincinnati, Ohio. I served as principal for 5 years before moving to Florida in 2014 to serve as Headmaster of Donahue Academy (K-12) in Ave Maria, FL. Last June I moved a little north and began my position here at ECS. I am so blessed to have been in Catholic education for most of my career. I am extremely passionate about Catholic Education and I love my job.
I reside in Venice with my three children: Cody, a Junior at Cardinal Mooney High School; Kylie, an eighth grader here at ECS and Cameron, a fourth grader here at ECS. I am also mom to 3 Shih tzus; Gizmo, Josie and Cashew. I am so blessed to be a part of the ECS community. Without a doubt I know God placed me here to not only do a good job for the children and families of this school and to serve God but to be humbled daily by this community and the love they show for me, my family and one another.

Welcome to Epiphany Cathedral Catholic School!

On behalf of the faculty and staff of ECS, we would like to thank you for your interest in our school. Since 1959, our school has provided Catholic education to students throughout Sarasota County and surrounding areas.

With the establishment of the Diocese of Venice in 1984, Epiphany Catholic Church became the Cathedral for the bishop, and our school was renamed Epiphany Cathedral School. With such a rich history, our school enjoys a reputation in the community as a school that is academically rigorous, assists children in developing a deep spiritual relationship with God and seeks ways to serve others.

As a Catholic school within the Diocese of Venice, our school is fully accredited by the Florida Catholic Conference. Epiphany Cathedral School is a co-educational parish school (supported by Epiphany Cathedral Parish and other surrounding-area Catholic parishes) for children in grades Pre-K through grade 8.

Working with parents, our students are taught the skills needed to fulfill their life of purpose. God has a plan for each of us. Our work is to help children seek that life of purpose and be prepared to follow God’s plan. ECS provides a disciplined, caring, and loving environment that supports that mission.

Our curriculum, established by the Diocese of Venice, ensures that children develop academically and spiritually. Lessons are created to reflect our Catholic faith and the gospel values. Passing along our faith and ensuring children have a strong and lasting relationship with God is evident in all that we do. Based upon the Diocese of Venice curriculum standards, our academic expectations are developmentally appropriate and reflect increased rigor for many of our students. Our students graduate from ECS well-prepared for the next level of academic preparation.

At Epiphany Cathedral Catholic School, we offer children a premier education for their life of purpose. We look forward to welcoming you to our school family and working together to lay the foundation for academic excellence, strong leadership, well-grounded character development and service for others.

In Christ’s Service,

Mrs. Gina Code, Principal
