Ms. Lisa Richardson
Welcome to Second Grade! I am Lisa Richardson. I come with 11 years teaching experience. I moved from Chicago, Illinois and spent one year educating at Island Village Montessori School. Prior to that, I taught First Grade at St. Mary Immaculate Parish School in Plainfield, Illinois.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, IL. I have had some Montessori training and am ESOL certified (English for Speakers of Other Languages).
My family is the heart of my life, and it is all over the country! I am a mother of four fantastic kids. My oldest, Devin is a senior at Arizona State University. Next in line is Brandon, a sophomore at Front Range Community College in Colorado. My two still at home are Conner, a freshman at Venice High School, and Elizabeth, a 6th grader here at Epiphany. I value our precious time together and realize that this time when they are young is a treasure and gift from God.
I have an amazing year planned for our class. The most important thing is that I am blessed to be able to share with my students and their families two Sacraments this year, First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. Together with Sr. Francis, they will be well prepared. In addition, we will be working as little scientists in a real lab to perform experiments and explore the wonderful world of science. Throughout the year, students are given a variety of learning experiences to foster independence and growth. I encourage a hands on approach to the curriculum with art, manipulatives, acting, music, and technology to enrich our learning and make it come alive.
I look forward to a great year!
