Mrs. Lisa Collins

Luke 2:40  The child was growing and was becoming strong in spirit, being filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him.

Welcome to Epiphany Cathedral School!  My name is Lisa Collins.  I am the kindergarten teacher at ECS.  I’ve been teaching kindergarten and first grade for the past thirty-one years.  I am a graduate of Trenton State College, now known as The College of New Jersey.  There I earned a BS in Early Childhood Education.  I’m also ESOL certified and hold my Catechist certification from the Diocese of Venice.  After teaching in New Jersey for eleven years, I returned to my hometown with my husband and our three sons.  I consider it a privilege to work with God’s most precious gift…our children.

My teaching philosophy has always centered around the belief that my students are individuals who develop at different times and have varying learning styles.  It is my responsibility to meet their needs and to ensure a positive learning experience.  I am a firm believer that the parent and teacher must be a cohesive unit that works together to build a strong educational foundation.  A nurturing and loving classroom is the learning environment that I strive to create for all children.  They need to feel safe and confident as they travel on their educational journey.  At Epiphany we firmly believe in educating the whole child, and creating life-long learners.
